A good haul
I’m a bit mad when it comes to christmas decorations. I love them and start thinking about what I’m going to put where in about september. I know that seems early but if it makes me happy am I really doing any harm ? Anyway Lee doesn’t help because he does nothing but encourage me. I blame him. This year I decided I was going to try and get vintage glass baubles like I used to have as a kid in the 70′s and I think you’ll agree I’ve done quite well!
Some of them need a little bit of fixing but as most of them are from the 60′s they look pretty good. I almost had to beg the old bint in the charity shop to let me buy the biggest ones. She said I could have them AFTER Christmas. What?! I was so well behaved and didn’t call her names or anything……
We found some of the old foil ceiling garlands to. It’ll look like santas grotto when we’ve finished!
I finished the Camera mittens by Ruth Stewart. They are nice but I didn’t enjoy the pattern at all. I think I’ll just do my own thing next time I knit mitts.
I have 2 dogs, Mal the deviant Shih tzu and Susie the obsessively clean, nervous one. Between them they make quite a good dog. Susie is 13 now and all of a sudden she seems old. She’s going a bit batty. Not in a nasty way. just like a mad old lady. She forgets she’s been fed and stuff like that. My favourite thing is when she jumps up and 11.30pm and starts rolling around ready to start a new day. Yesterday I snapped this pic and when I looked at it on my Mac it made me cry. She looks so old and fragile and on looking at the pic I realised just how much I love the smelly old bugger..
Well Heeeello
Just as I was doing really well updating my blog we lost our internet access. All is well now and we seem to have a much better connection with the super efficient O2. Go them!
Edinburgh was fab and we had a great time despite the fact Lee fell down a manhole just a few days before. He’s still off work with a gammy foot the poor sod. At the risk of sounding like a horrible bitch I have to say that he’s driving me nuts being at home all the time. I like my own space and between the hours of 9am and 3pm 5 days a week are when I get it. I’ve no chance of that for a while yet though…..Get better soon Lee, Lee! ha,ha
I had planned to take loads of photos while we were away but I just couldn’t be bothered. It was too cold. I only took 4 snapshots one of which was this. You were supposed to be able to see the castle in the background but, well you can’t.

Edinburgh Castle
I would definately like to visit again but we would need 2 days there. We didn’t really see much of the city as we only had one full day..
I got new tattoos the week before we went away. They still aren’t properly healed yet because I’m crap at getting better! I do like them lots though. As always they were done by my mate Sween over at 21st Century Tattoo

Knit & Purl
I think my next will be a cover up of the crappy tribal piece I have between my shoulder blades. I’m not quite sure what I want yet though. Oh and then I start my robot sleeve! Can’t wait for that >_<
Dreamscapes
Yesterday I went for a meander about in the village with my duaflex contraption and my 450d. My plan was to take some shots of a village hall that is all boarded up and surrounded by woodland but once I’d fired a few shots I realised it wasn’t actually that interesting. So instead I headed into the little wood where the trees were beautiful shades of orange and yellow.
I couldn’t resist a couple of b&W shots either…More on my Flickr
I’m really looking forward to shooting in Edinburgh, it should be really good for TtV shots as theres loads of nice building and things.
I’m off to Meadow Hall tomorrow with my mum in the hope of finding a nice winter coat. I’ve been bleedin’ freezing the past few days and although I have warm hiking coats, they aren’t really suitable for going out. I think I’m going to get a black funnel neck wool coat. I had a long one last year and it drove me crazy so I think I’ll go for a shorter one this time. Who cares if my bum looks big.
Lati Pattern
I finally got around to finishing the pattern for the Lati Yellow dress I made. I hope the pattern works out for you. I wrote it down as I was knitting and it’s the first time I’ve written a pattern so it may have mistakes! Anyway I hope it’s of use to someone ^_^

Lati dress
I lied
I have got time to write something today because I’ve actually abandoned editing in favour of of buying stuff. I am saddened by the fact I am unable to replace my much loved Leather Dunlop Green flash. They were the perfect trainer, comfy and cool. I worn them everyday for about 3 years. They’ve been to London, York, Prague (twice) and lots of other places that I can’t remember. It seems though that they have stopped making the leather ones and I can only get canvas uppers which I’m sure will be lovely but not quite the same……
I’m actually a bit stressed about shopping at the moment. Aside from the usual Christmas panic, I have a few nights out lined up and I don’t have anything to wear. My usual look is quite casual with vintage jackets and bags. I really only ever wear my Cons or my Celt boots. None of these things will do for my nights out. I did buy a nice black dress but quite honestly I think I look a bit of a twat in it. So I either stick to the stuff that suits me and sod everyone else or I could go and buy something I will never wear again …… I think I’ll just stick to my usual look.
D let me take his photo the other day. He’s terrible for pulling faces and he never does a “normal” smile so this pic is a gem. I may even get it printed.

Baby D
Also I did some shopping at Aldi this morning and I’m amazed at the amount of people in there that smell of piss. Seriously it”s something like 7 out of 10 people in there. Why is that?
New inkage
Because I won’t have any time to update tomorrow, here are the pics. The red still isn’t healed properly as I’m allergic to the red ink.

Squats ?
I can’t move today. My legs and arms have seized up like an old bike that needs oiling. Why? because I shot a wedding yesterday (my last one) and did the equivalent of about 500 squats! I’m so bloody unfit and although I keep threatening to do something about it, I never actually do. I should at least do a bit of walking. There are beautiful places right on my doorstep and I’m too lazy to get out and see them…
The wedding and decorating the bedroom took over a bit this week so I haven’t really made any progress with my knitting or photography projects. Hopefully I’ll make up for it next week when the children are back at school and I’ve waded through the editing.
I did manage to take these two TtV shots which although not particularly good, I still like.
I started knitting a little Lati dress last night and managed to throw together a pattern for it. I’ll post it here as soon as I’ve finished if it turns out OK that is.
As a treat for my many stressful events past and coming up I booked a weekend in Edinburgh for me and L. We’re staying here in a kingsize four poster bed ^_^ I’m looking forward to it so much and it will be a welcome break for both of us before the stress of my surgery and Christmas. I must remember to look up yarn shops before I go !
